While the plunger remains on the same side like Mk ii amass the idle screw can be moved to either side for easy tuning while on your journey. When starting, raise the idle speed till it warms up, then back off you should be able to do that on your upper throttle cable adjust.
When a round slide carb starts to wear there is no way for it to seal and it starts to leak air after which continues to get worse until the carb is replaced. The flat slide which is chromed will last much longer than the round counterpart and will never wear out because it uses engine vacuum to the seal. This has resulted in a smooth transition from idle all the way through to wot without any hesitation or flat spots.

Your comment but maybe i'm wrong was actually correct as it was too much fuel from the needle jet circuit set up being incorrectly. May I take this opportunity to offer my personal gratitude is your guidance in helping me to resolve my carburetor settings on my Triumph T160. The carb's are synchronised using manometers and there are no vacuum leaks on the induction tracts, also when warmed up I have coax it off the idle it's got otherwise it just spits back and dies, there is also a flat spot when entering the main metering circuit but after that it's fine the engine spins up and the bike flies.
