The choke cable is broken off though, which is common, and they are readily available individually. Here is a nice used Mikuni hsr 42 tm42 1s in good used condition. It is currently jetted at 165 main, 30 pilot. Everyone has an opinion on carburetors, and dudes bitch about tuning a Mikuni, but they really aren't that hard to tune, and they are a full 3 circuit carburetor so you don't encounter any of the typical shortcomings of thees 2 circuit carbs.
I have found the Mikuni to make good power, be more consistent, and efficient than any of thees carbs. No reserve, bid to win, and good luck. I have one on both my 1200 Sportster, 80 Evo, and I also run a 45 on my 96 fatso motor. I took the float bowl off and it looked very lightly used inside.
